Brahmā

Brahmā is the primeval first god in the Hindu triumvirate, or trimurti. He is not to be confused with the Supreme Cosmic Spirit in Hindu Vedānta philosophy known as Brahman, which is genderless. He is depicted with 4 heads. It is believed that from these heads came the four Vedas (the most ancient texts) and the least worshipped of the gods in the Hindu faith. He is also the supreme in the triad of great Hindu gods. Brahmā’s consort is Saraswati, goddess of knowledge and According to the Brahmā Purāṇa, he is the father of Manu, and from Manu all human beings are descended.
