Taweret

Taweret is the hippo goddess of ancient Egypt. She is also known as Tawret, Taueret, Taurt, Thoeris and Toeris, Ipy, Ipet, Apet, Opet, Reret. Goddess of fertility, childbirth and fertility, she is also a protector of women. Like humans, hippos normally only carry and birth one baby at a time.
