The Tree of life is the world tree, a massive tree (sometimes considered a yew or ash tree) with extensive lore surrounding it. It is an important symbol used by many theologies, philosophies and mythologies. It appears in Norse religion as Yggdrasil and signifies the connection between heaven and earth and the underworld.
