Vedas – There are four Vedas, the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. Each is a collection of poems or hymns composed in archaic Sanskrit by Indo-European-speaking peoples who lived in northwest India. They are the primary texts of Hinduism and have also had a large influence on Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism.
