Best Banana Bread Recipe: Make extra loaves and give them as gifts!

Great for breakfast or dessert! For best results use ripe to over-ripened bananas. Make loaves or banana muffins. They’re delicious in whatever form you choose.

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious banana bread recipe:

  • 2 cups/240 grams sifted flour
  • 2 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup/113 grams of butter
  • 2/3 cup/135 grams sugar
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3-4 bananas

OPTIONAL but highly recommended – 1 cup or 125 g chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.
  2. Beat the butter until creamy, gradually adding sugar, beat until fluffy after each addition.
  3. Add eggs and beat until thick.
  4. Add the bananas mashing the small bits.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, alternately blending thoroughly after each addition.
  6. Fold in the nuts.
  7. Grease the bottom of a loaf pan and pour in the mixture.
  8. Bake for one hour at 350F/180C degrees.
