We don’t always think about all of the things that make our hearts feel bad. Apathy and hopelessness can confront us when and take over when we think about and are faced with the world’s biggest problems. Yet every action we take has implications and we’re not hopeless, we can at least make an effort to do our best to make change by being it. That’s not an optimist’s or idealist’s illusory dream. Don’t let the sadness cripple you.
You can not buy products in plastic, you can support local business, you can write to your legislators. Do something everyday, one thing – maybe something as simple as picking up garbage you see on the street. It’s not all in vain. If 1% of the world’s 8 billion people took one action a day, imagine the change we would see and be.
